The arrangements for parishes are set out in paragraphs 16 to 29 of the Declaration.
These arrangements are to be ‘broadly comparable and consistent’ (paras 16-17).
Responsibility for decisions rests with the PCC (para. 18).
A resolution can be passed by a simple majority of PCC members (para. 19).
Suggested wording of a resolution (para. 20).
A resolution should be reviewed from time to time (para. 21).
The theological conviction underlying the resolution will need to be made clear (para. 22).
All involved must do everything possible to comply with this conviction (paras 23-24).
Even in multi-parish benefices, ministry should respect a parish’s conviction (para. 25).
Non-retired bishops whose ministry respects this conviction will provide oversight (paras 26-29).
