FIF Australia National Conference 2005

Bishop Ross Davies
FiF Australia holds its National Conference and General Meeting biennially due to the problems of expense and distance in our ‘wide brown land.’

This year the National Conference and General Meeting was held in November in the Parish of O’Halloran Hill in the Diocese of The Murray. About 60 delegates attended and stayed at a nearby winery! We were in for a feast with addresses from Bishop Kapinga of Ravuna in Tanzania, Bishop David Moyer of Philadelphia and Lay Canon Chris Fouse, a leading member of FiF North America.

Beautiful worship was led by Bishop Ross Davies in historic Christ Church, O’Halloran Hill and the conference was happy and productive.

The General Meeting overwhelmingly affirmed the actions of the National Council in putting forward David Chislett for consecration as a bishop and congratulated Bishop Davies for his participation in the Rosemount Consecrations.

Despite the continuing difficulties of maintaining our small orthodox catholic presence in
Australia, the Conference was upbeat and confident. The Conference culminated in a wonderful Sung Mass with Bishop Davies as the chief concelebrant as the Diocesan Bishop joined by Archbishop John Hepworth, Bishop David Chislett, Bishop David Moyer and Bishop Maternus Kapinga.
