FiF Australia Vice-Chairman to be ordained as a Bishop in the TAC

The Vice-Chairman of Forward in Faith Australia, Fr Harry Entwistle ssc, has announced that he is to resign as Rector of Mount Lawley, in the diocese of Perth, Western Australia.  Speaking to parishioners on 30th April, he explained  that he could no longer in good conscience remain as a member of the college of presbyters of the Archbishop of Perth, given the latter’s unwillingness to break rank with other bishops and make provision for Traditional Anglicans.

The Forward in Faith Australia National Assembly which took place at O’Halloran Hill, South Australia, in November, 2005 endorsed “the decision of the National Council of FiFA in laying on the table the names of the Venerable Harry Entwistle and the Reverend David Robarts to be consecrated bishops.”

Accordingly, Fr Entwistle will be consecrated to the episcopate in Perth towards the end of the year by other bishops from the TAC and the Anglican Communion to lead, care for and be a shepherd to Traditional Anglicans in the West in order to create and grow new congregations. Although he will be consecrated a bishop in the Church of God, he will not be allowed to exercise that ministry in the Anglican Church of Australia except in the Diocese of The Murray.
