Bishop Nigel McCulloch

Forward in Faith is delighted to learn that the Legislative Drafting Group, called for in the motion passed by the General Synod on 10 July 2006, is to be chaired by the Bishop of Manchester.  We have every confidence that Bishop McCulloch will approach this challenging task with precisely the degree of open-mindedness it demands.

We now look forward to the announcement of the membership of the rest of the Drafting Group.  We naturally trust that it will fully and fairly reflect the range of opinions on the consecration of women as bishops to be found not simply amongst the membership of General Synod, but throughout the entire Church.  We believe that it is only by means of such a truly representative group that an equitable way forward will be found.
